Microsoft Unveil next XBOX. Meet the XBOX ONE

Microsoft has unveiled their next XBOX console, with many believing that its name would be the XBOX 720, its name will be the XBOX ONE. Activision’s Call of Duty: Ghosts was also officially premiered at the event.The Specs include an 8 core CPU, 8GB System memory, 500GB HDD, Blu-ray drive, 802.11n Wireless WiFi Direct, HDMI In / Out and USB 3.0. An all new XBOX controller and XBOX Kinect were also unveiled. The new Kinect device will take interaction to the next level, with an improved 1080p camera, allowing users to switch on the console instantly by saying ‘XBOX ONE turn on’, it will also have vastly improved motion detection.

XBOX OneLive TV and Skype will also be included, opening a whole new world of interactive features. A demonstration showed how a user could answer a Skype call whilst watching a movie / multitasking.

Froza motorsport 5

Microsoft has promised 15 exclusive games in the first year, eight of which will be brand new franchises. Forza Motorsport 5 will be available at console launch. Quantum Break will be an XBOX One release by Remedy Games, which combines a movie with gameplay. The World of Halo will be a premium TV series available via XBOX Live. EA Sports announced that FIFA 14, Madden 25, NBA Live 14, and the next UFC would all feature on the XBOX ONE with a new games engine named ‘Ignite’.

Call of Duty Ghosts

Activision revealed that all DLC would be available first exclusively on the XBOX ONE in all future Call of Duty games. Hirshberg said “We’re pushing the genre forward with Ghosts. I think a lot of people were expecting us to create Modern Warfare 4, but we didn’t want to rest on our laurels, we wanted to press the franchise forward with a new world and new engine.”

The console will go on sale later this year. Many more details will be revealed in a couple of weeks at E3.
