6 Tricks You Didn’t Know the iPhone 6 Could Do

The iPhone 6 has been around for quite some time now. Long enough for most people to have discovered all of the little tricks and hacks. However, not everyone is getting the most from their iPhone. Apple have put in plenty of smart little enhancements to make your life easier. Some are even just for fun. To help you make the most out of your iPhone 6, here are some of the coolest tricks.

  1. Bring the home screen down

As you can probably tell, the iPhone 6 models are a lot larger than their predecessors. Most of us are having to use two hands to make the most out of our phones. Apple expected this problem, so came up with a clever little hack to bring the home screen down. All you need to do is gently double-tap the home button to access their Reachability feature. You can now use your iPhone 6 with one hand!

  1. Quicker photos

Want to take a quick picture on your iPhone 6? It can be a faff to play around with the camera app, we know! If you don’t want to miss out on that photo then there is a clever trick to try. You can snap photos using the volume buttons, as long as the camera app is open. This is super handy for quick pics and for selfies. Both the up and down buttons work.

  1. Harder to crack passwords

After all the iCloud login security breaches, it’s more important than ever to protect information on your iPhone. Apple have introduced more complex passcodes, to stop people from getting into your phone. Head over to Settings > General and then Passcode Settings. You can now turn off the Simple Passcode and go for something harder to crack.

  1. Battery draining apps

Everyone moans about the battery life on iPhones, but most will rarely do anything about it. On the iPhone 6 you can now find out which apps are draining your battery. This will give you a better idea of what to turn off when you’re running low. Head over to the general settings, usage and then battery usage. You’ll be able to see which apps are using the most juice.

  1. Read emails when composing

The email app on the iPhone always seems to be a bit of a pain. Once you’re writing an email, it is impossible to reference another email. Right? Wrong! Apple have bought in a clever way to read stuff in your inbox while putting together an email. All you need to do is gently swipe down on the title bar (the bit in between cancel and send). You can then hit new message at the bottom when you’re ready to return to what you’re writing.

  1. Turn predictive text on and off

We’ve all seen those horrific autocorrect fails around the internet. If you want to turn predictive text off, then it’s super easy. All you need to do is touch and hold the little globe or smiley face icon. This will then bring up some options for you to play around with. Now you can turn predictive text on or off.

Hopefully these 6 tricks will enhance your experience of the iPhone 6. By the time you get used to them all, the iPhone 7 will be hitting the shelves, most likely.
